Who do I contact about the workshops?

Please contact Hancock CranioSomatic Institute.
Dr. Dallas Hancock and his wife, Florence Barber, have renamed their teaching and research organization. The new name, Hancock CranioSomatic Institute (HCSI), represents their contemporary understanding of the global ('cranio-somatic') nature of structure and function. HCSI has replaced National Institute of Craniosacral Studies, Inc. (NICS).  Continuing education workshops for healthcare practitioners in various disciplines are taught in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Who are the instructors?

The Senior instructors are G. Dallas Hancock, Ph.D.(c), D.C. and Flo Barber, Ph.D.(c), L.M.T, developers of the CranioSomatic Concepts and many of the techniques.  They may be assisted in class by other instructors or skilled practitioners with prior training and experience in the techniques being taught.

Who is eligible to take the CranioSomatic workshops?

The CranioSomatic workshops are designed for professionally trained / licensed health care providers. Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Nurses, and other professionals working to restore patients' health and physical function are eligible, and will find the CranioSomatic Therapy workshops exciting and very worthwhile. Some professionals in related fields, such as education and mental health, may also be eligible, and will find the concepts and techniques very enlightening. Other laypersons - such as parents or care-givers working with special needs individuals - can attend only by special arrangement.

Who should take the CranioSomatic workshops?

CranioSomatic Therapy appeals to practitioners who are:

  • Seeking a structural - rather than energy-based - approach to cranial therapy.
  • Interested in rehabilitative therapy techniques with evidence-based treatment procedures that can be validated with pre- and post-evaluations.
  • Confident in establishing and implementing a course of treatment.
  • Excited by new paradigms.
  • Interested in a proven, highly effective treatment modality which creates immediate and long-term improvements in neuromuscular function.
  • Interested in enhancing the effectiveness of other therapies they use.
  • Seeking more effective outcomes - to improve results, generate greater patient satisfaction, and increase referrals.

CranioSomatic Therapy will facilitate progress and positive outcomes, whether a patient's concern is peak athletic performance, relief from pain, postural improvement, or rehabilitation following surgery or trauma.
